Laser Hair Removal

Did you know…

That interest in laser hair removal is at an all-time high? More and more people choose to remove unwanted body hair using laser hair removal every year.  Most people who get laser hair removal are very satisfied with the results, with most achieving a permanent reduction in hair growth. In fact, nearly 9 in 10 people who get laser hair removal say that having gone through the process and experiencing the results for themselves, they would choose to do it again.

Advancements in cosmetic medical technology have come a long way, making it possible to achieve results once thought impossible. Laser hair removal is one of the most popular cosmetic treatments in the U.S., as it allows men and women to not only remove unwanted body hair but also prevent it from growing back. After just a few treatments, a person may be able to eliminate the need to constantly shave, wax or epilate.

Elite Aesthetics Med Spa uses the Elite MPX, our proven MultiPlex laser technology that delivers real results, fast!

Recognized as the most versatile platform today, the Elite MPX offers and addresses:

  • Hair removal on ALL skin types
  • Treatment of pigmentation and redness
  • Photo-aged skin
  • Wrinkles
  • Treatment of facial and leg verbs
  • Laser facials
  • The best IPL technology available

With the Elite MPX at Elite Aesthetics Med Spa, you won’t have to compromise results by offering one wavelength that can only effectively treat a small range of skin types and conditions.  That’s because its revolutionary technology sequentially combines gold standard wavelengths in one system:  the 755 nm Alexandrite laser, 1064 nm Nd: YAG laser and new Intense Pulse Light (IPL)

What is the Cynosure Elite MPX?

Powered by proven MultiPlex technology, the Elite MPX at Elite Aesthetics Med Spa is recognized as the most versatile laser platform today!  The Elite MPX addresses hair removal on all skin types, treatment of pigmentation, redness, wrinkles, treatment of facial and leg veins, plus new Interior-grated IPL for photo facials.

What is the MultiPlex?

MultiPlex is the ability to sequential fire different laser wavelengths through the same handpick, with precise timing to improve the outcome of treatment compared to single-wavelength treatment.

Why is Elite MPX, Multiplex technology better?

MultiPlex has shown to be more effective in laser hair removal and vascular treatments than the use of any single wavelength modality.  Given the fact that you are using two wavelengths simultaneously the power of each can be turned down which provides for an even more comfortable treatment for the client.

What method of cooling is used on the Elite MPX?

We use integrated air-cooling, which is safer and provides a more comfortable treatment when compared to Cryogen or Contact cooling.  Studies show the use of air-cooling which cools the skin before during and after the laser fires provides superior patient comfort without the use of cumbersome disposables.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is the Elite MPX the BEST Hair Removal System?

Versatility, safety, & clinical efficacy.   With the use of the two gold standard wavelengths, an integrated IPL & integrated air cooling, Elite Aesthetics Med Spa is able to address multiple treatments without sacrificing efficacy or safety.

Who is a candidate for an Elite MPX treatment?

Laser hair removal is appropriate for most people who are bothered or embarrassed by unwanted hair. Given the versatility of the Elite Laser Hair Removal, it can be used safely and effectively on ALL skin types regardless of ethnicity or color.  It provides superior results safely for the treatment of laser hair removal, spider veins, pigmentation, diffused redness, general dyschromia & photofacial.

What should I expect during a laser hair removal session?

Laser hair removal is performed from the comfort of our office. You will wear protective eyewear, and a topical anesthetic may be applied to your skin prior to the procedure. A concentrated laser beam will be guided over the treatment area, targeting the dark pigment of each hair and killing the follicle beneath. Most people experience a noticeable reduction in the amount of hair re-growth after a single treatment, though additional treatments will be necessary to achieve optimal results.

How long will it take to permanently remove all unwanted hair?

After 4-6 treatments (spaced out every 4-5 weeks for the face or every 6-8 weeks for the arms/body/legs), most patients see on average 80% hair reduction.   Hair that remains should be thinner, lighter in color, softer, and grow more slowly.  We typically recommend at least 6 laser hair removal sessions to achieve a significant hair reduction. Results vary from person to person, but most candidates for laser hair removal will enjoy hair that becomes increasingly lighter and finer as the treatments progress. Additional sessions may be necessary on occasion to maintain long-term results.

TREATMENT TIME: Depends on the surface area of the treatment area.  The Elite MPX is extremely fast and is able to perform full body laser hair treatments in less than 1 hour.  A small area may take less than 5 minutes as opposed to a larger area taking on average 15 minutes.   Multiple areas can be done at the same visit.

MEDICATIONS/CONDITIONS TO AVOID PRIOR TO TREATMENT: Prior to your treatment, let us know if you are on any antibiotics. Avoid sun exposure without sunscreen, self-tanners, waxing, threading, and plucking for at least two weeks prior to your treatment for best results. We DO advise shaving the area to be treated the evening before the treatment.  The more contrast between the skin (ideally lighter) and the hair (ideally darker) the better!

POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS:   Side effects are minimal and may include itching, slight pinkness, redness, very mild swelling, or feel like you have a mild sunburn for a few days after the treatment. Extremely rare is a change in skin color (hypo or hyper pigmentation), scab formation, allergy to the gel used during the treatment, or rarely a burn to the skin.
